Well.....

Yeppers, totally a slacker!  I think this is my 2nd post for the month of April, i know, i know....slow down there Killer!  I didn't even add all the pictures for the last post which consisted of Jaida's bday and Ez's bday.  My goodness...i couldn't even give them their own post.  EPIC FAIL!

So, what can I squish all together in this post to cover the month of April?  Well, let's see....

Doug went a bit on the looney side and decided to get some chicks.  Seriously, we now have chickens living in our garage. (No, I will not post pictures of only chickens w/this post becuz, c'mon, how bad would that look that chickens have their own day, but I combined the celebration of Jaida and Ezeekai into one?  The truth would then come out...i am a totally lame mom!)

We celebrated Easter this past Sunday with a family photo shoot at Dickinson College after lunch.  It was a total success!  We got so-so pictures of incredibly
happy
miserable children who
thrive on
dread this event.  Maggie's dress was too small and "itchy," Ezeekai attempted to throw a stick into the pond but instead threw it into Nate's face, and Doug offered no support whatsoever so we all walked away from this annual tradition  hand-in-hand and skipping through the tulips vowing never to do it again!

Our schedule has become incredibly full thanks to all these wonderful children and their sports schedules!  Actually, we enjoy this time of year.  I love seeing the kids learn new things, improve on the skills they already have, and just enjoy their time outside playing sports.  Corey is playing baseball, of course.  Fahnta is playing soccer.  Maggie and Jaida are playing softball.  Ezeekai was bat boy at Corey's last game...popular kid that boy is!  Nate is enjoying his time outside exploring and catching new life.  He just caught a painted turtle yesterday so he is all happy and skippy.  No more Debbie Downer for him!

The kids got to spend some time with the Denlinger's this past week during their visit for Easter.  A good time had by all!!!

Hopefully, I will post before the end of May.  I really need to learn to stick w/things!!!

The blog it is a changin....

My original purpose of this blog was to be like a scrapbook of sorts for my kids.  Unfortunately, my head now spins with random and purposeless (is that even a word) thoughts that I feel I should share.  It happens when I am  in the shower (see example below), when i am driving my truck, when something stupid happens and i have some sort of remark for it.  It is driving me nuts!  Sooooooooooooo, in an effort to keep myself from going crazy, I am going to just post whatever the heck I want to on here.  I mean, c'mon, it is my blog, right?!?!  Doug and Corey both want me to make it public...I think Corey thinks he will become something like a rock star and Doug just thinks I am a flake and sees no reason why he should keep this little gem of a wife, with her wonderful thoughts, to himself!  So, I am considering that.  Like I said here, I get a lot of material from the peeps i live with!  Apparently, I get a lot of material from inside my head as well.

WARNING!  The following excerpt came from my within my head while i was showering!

So, while I was shaving my legs in the shower this morning a memory was jogged in my head.  I was taken back to my freshman year of high school, a looooong time ago, when a few friends and i decided that we would rebel against the status quo and NOT shave our legs.  I know, crazy right?!?!  It was winter time and we just didn't feel like doing it anymore.  We were "burn our bras" kinda gals!  Here's the kicker.  I went to a Catholic high school that required us to wear uniforms.  Those uniforms consisted of a white shirt, a weskit or sweater, and a skirt!  Yes, a skirt.  So, when one doesn't shave one's legs when one wears a skirt, others see the result of one's rebellion!  So, after a week or so I couldn't take it anymore.  One of my friend, on the other hand, outwitted, outlasted, and outplayed me!  WOW, her legs were nasty and were a topic of conversation for many, many other freshman!  It was almost like a freak show.  Students got up close to look at them, although you really didn't need to be that close after a couple of weeks, and people touched them just to feel what they were like after she let her hair grow out for that long.  I honestly don't remember how this ended, other than she eventually shaved her legs.  We didn't have a big ceremony or anything for the shaving, but i wish we would have.  We could have posted it on YouTube and let everyone see her with her sickle.  Wait!  Who am i kidding?  We didn't have YouTube back then!!!  *sigh*  I am sure we would have had thousands of hits though!

So, that is a perfect example of a pointless thought that enters my head and i feel i could write about.  There are many, many others (what i think of snow days, i really want a catchy blog title, my broken dishwasher, etc.) but I will just leave it at this one today.   Maybe tomorrow I will go back to my original purpose of the blog...then again, maybe not!
